Jad Maq Opens the Largest Art Studio in Jordan’s History

Jad Maq Art Studio Amman Jordan New Renaissance

In the middle of Amman’s industrial zone — long known for factories, workshops, and machinery — a new kind of factory has emerged. Artist Jad Maq and fashion designer Sylwia Nazzal have transformed a former wood factory into the largest art studio in Jordan’s history. Together, they’ve built a home for creation, community, and connection.

Already, Jad has begun filling the vast halls with monumental artworks, works that speak to both the scale of the building and the scale of his vision. For the first time, art now stands as a pillar in Amman’s industrial heart — a statement that Jordan has a place on the global stage of contemporary creation.

About Jad Maq

Born in Manila, Philippines and now based in Amman, Jad Maq is a neo-expressionist artist whose work centers on the complexity of human nature — its instincts, emotions, and need for authentic storytelling. He began his artistic journey in late 2019, making a conscious decision to follow his calling. What began as an inward search soon expanded into a dialogue with the natural world and its opposing forces of disconnection and distortion.

By staying true to his inner voice, Jad forged a practice rooted in love, empathy, and honesty. His art became a vehicle for connection and a quiet invitation to slow down, feel more, and explore the deeper layers of existence. In just four years, his work has reached collectors in over 65 countries, generating more than 40 million impressions worldwide.

The language of Jad’s art is physical and raw — each piece a sensory experience as much as a visual one. His process embraces imperfection and pushes the boundaries of what art can be, not just as an object but as a living force. His vision is simple: create boldly, give freely, and let the process shape you as much as you shape it.

Building a New Home for Art in Jordan

Every corner of this studio carries the energy of this journey — the persistence, the late nights, and the determination to give Jordan a new cultural landmark. This project was made possible with the support of mentors and friends, including Karim Sawalha of @design_composite, who guided and believed in the vision, and @ammar_khammash and @ibrahimmouasher, whose encouragement and presence helped bring it to life.

This space is itself a monumental artwork — a place where bold visions take root, where artists can gather, and where community will flourish.
